Some 300 clients, partners and suppliers attended Kajima’s annual reception, held this year on Tuesday 21 September 2010 at the newly refurbished and extended Museum of London.  We were educated and entertained by Lord Digby Jones, who drew on his wide experience in business and government to review current prospects for the property and construction industry.

Whilst acknowledging the challenging business environment, his overall message was upbeat: provided government put its own house in order then the private sector would be able to start creating the jobs that were so badly needed.  But he stressed the need for the industry to continue to invest in training and young people even in difficult times.

It was a lively occasion with architects rubbing shoulders with agents, contractors with developers, financiers with lawyers, all helped along by excellent food and drink.
