KAJIMA PARTNERSHIPS’ ACQUISITION IN WEST LOTHIAN SCHOOLS PFI PROJECT

Kajima Partnerships has added a further project to its portfolio of operational investments with its acquisition, in partnership with HICL Infrastructure Company, of a 50% interest in the West Lothian Schools PPP Project from Dawn Construction Limited. The project involves the design, construction and operational management of two secondary schools in West Lothian: Armadale Academy, and Deans Community High School. The schools, which opened in 2009, also act as community sports hubs offering the local community access to swimming, keep-fit suites, sports pitches, dance studios and other activities.

This brings Kajima’s portfolio of PFI/PPP projects to 15. The project’s co-shareholder is Hochtief PPP Solutions.

Julian Rudd-Jones, Kajima’s Managing Director said: “We are pleased to be joining Hochtief as co-investor in this project. This is our first acquisition in Scotland and further extends our successful investment partnership with HICL.”
