KAJIMA PARTNERSHIPS' ACQUISITION IN GLOUCESTERSHIRE FIRE AND RESCUE PFI PROJECT

Kajima Partnerships is pleased to announce the acquisition by the joint venture holding company it owns with HICL Infrastructure Company Limited of the 100% interest in the Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue PFI Project from subsidiaries of Kier plc, Carden Croft Ltd and Reliance Security Group Ltd. The Project is a 25-year concession to design, build, fund and maintain 4 community fire stations and 1 education centre (SkillZONE). The client is Gloucestershire County Council.

The new fire stations and training centres are part of a £40m government investment in Fire and Rescue provision in Gloucestershire in order to improve response times and enhance their community focus. These are located in four sites, two in Gloucester, and two in Cheltenham.

The SkillZONE Safety Education Centre is a state-of–the-art, fully interactive life size village and learning environment to teach people of all ages how to recognise dangerous situations and stay safe.

The construction cost for the 5 facilities was approximately £23m. The facilities are now in their operational stage and ongoing management will be provided by Kajima Partnerships.
